Production Manager - Night Shift

We're looking for an experienced, people-focused leader to join us as Night Shift Production Manager, at our Marlborough site, overseeing one of New Zealand's significant wine bottling operations and leading our night shift team to deliver outstanding results across safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence.

With responsibility for approximately six direct reports and a significant production workforce, you'll play a key role in championing continuous improvement initiatives and delivering operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

We offer a competitive starting salary of $120,000 - $130,000. Working 40 hours per week, you will enjoy the flexibility of a Monday to Thursday work week and the autonomy to manage your schedule. While primarily supporting our Night Shift operation (5:00pm to 5:00am), you'll also maintain a regular presence on Day Shift to support team engagement and operational alignment. What You'll Be Responsible For

• Leading, coaching, and developing Team Leaders and production employees across the night shift.
• Driving a high-performing, accountable team focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Delivering production targets and monitoring key operational KPIs to achieve strong performance outcomes.
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and operational excellence.
• Managing workflow, labour utilisation, and overall shift performance.
• Supporting operational change and developing leadership capability across the production team.

About You

You're an experienced people manager with a proven ability to lead leaders, build team capability, and deliver operational results through others.

You'll bring:

• 3+ years' management experience in a manufacturing, production, food & beverage, or similar operational environment.
• Previous experience leading teams in a night-shift operation would be an advantage.
• Solid understanding of operational performance, production KPIs, and workforce planning.
• Experience developing both leaders and high-performing teams.
• A leadership style that balances high performance expectations with genuine support and development.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the business, gain buy-in, and successfully implement change.
• Confident decision-maker who can assess risks, solve problems, and make sound judgments.
• A proactive continuous improvement mindset and a passion for operational excellence.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience managing labour costs, monitoring budgets, and making commercially minded operational decisions.
