Senior Data & Platform Engineer

WineWorks is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data & Platform Engineer, to own, maintain and continuously evolve our IoT and DataWorks platform. This is a critical senior role responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and ongoing value delivery of our data and operational technology ecosystem.

You will bring strong practical experience across Microsoft Azure technologies including Databricks, Data Factory, Digital Twins, IoT services and SQL. You will apply this expertise to drive innovation, operational excellence, platform reliability, security and continuous improvement.

This role requires a hands-on technical leader who is equally comfortable working with cloud platforms, industrial systems, software development, and stakeholders across the business.

The successful candidate will ensure a current and accurate inventory of technology assets, software and licences is maintained, while owning data pipelines, integrations, platform architecture and ongoing optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the ongoing technical operation, performance, reliability and continuous improvement of the WineWorks IoT and DataWorks platform.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into practical data solutions
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, integrations, and reporting solutions
• Support and optimise IoT-related systems and data environments
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with company standards
• Maintain accurate technical documentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve system and data-related issues
• Assist in the identification, testing and implementation of new software
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, cost efficiency, automation and operational outcomes through emerging technologies and data-driven innovation.
  

What We’re Looking For

• Comprehensive knowledge of Cloud infrastructure including Databricks, Digital Twins and SQL, including practical applications. 
• Can capably set up, configure and troubleshoot Cloud, Gateway and PLC infrastructure
• Exceptional communication and thorough documentation skills
• Self-sufficient with strong drive for results
• Good time management skills, demonstrating resilience
• Dev ops/terraform provisioning
• .Net and Python programming
• Ai development including Machine Learning and deep learning
